From the pickup in Toronto we roll onto the Gardiner Expressway, tracing the lakeshore before the road hands off to the QEW that carries us the rest of the way around the western end of Lake Ontario. It's about 128 km end to end, roughly 95 minutes of smooth highway with the water on one side and the Niagara escarpment rising ahead.
